Ecce
Ecce Robot is the first humanoid robot whose movement is quite similar to the human one. Developed by a team of scientists at the University of Zurich, Ecci, is short for Eccerobot. Ecce in Latin means Lo or Behold.
The anthropomimetic robot liberates the barriers found with the robotic metallic structures of humanoids by creating replicas of human bones, tendons, muscles and joints as well as the associated mechanism.
One of their first breakthroughs was the anthropomorphic tendon-driven arm. This was to show how robots will be designed in the future to best interact with human beings. ECCEROBOT is one of the most famous robotic projects in the EU.
